Neighbors...Bah!

Hi All!

I bought a new couch. It's pretty! It's on back order so I don't know when I'll get it. I'll be moving my current sofa into the office since it has a bed in it.

So I have a crazy neighbor and she has a lonely son. I can never decide if the neighbor just sleeps all day or if she is high when I talk to her. It seems like every time I talk to her she is half awake. Anyway her son is always really bored and lonely. He's always been scared of me though. He would always stand at my fence and stare in at me and my house but he would always run away and not speak to me when I was outside. I could have lived without the staring but as long as he didn't bother me I was fine. However! He has decided that he is no longer afraid of me. This is a problem because now he always wants to hang out with me and talk to me. It's not fun. He is six and has six year old conversation skills. I am not looking for new friends, especially six year old creepy neighbor kids. Plus, now he and his mother seem to think I want to come over for dinner all the time. I don't! I have figured out that I can tell them I am dieting and they don't put up as much of a fight when I say "no thank you". The kid reminds me of the Rick Moranis character from Ghost Busters. You know the one that stands by his door and listens for Sigorny Weaver to come into the hallway so he can talk to her. This kid is always standing at my fence peeking in when I am at home, just waiting for me to come out. And, when I am come home from work he is standing outside his fence waiting for me to come home, and he follows me when I get home. I feel bad for him, I think he is the only kid in the building. But I think his mom should enroll him in boys and girls club or something. I am trying to think of different ways to get to my door to avoid them both.

I have been swimming alot this summer. I always said I wanted a place with a pool but secretly worried that I would never use it. That's not a problem here. There is always someone that wants to go swimming and I am more than willing to accommodate. I usually swim 3-4 times a week. I love it! But I would expect to be more tan by now? I also have had the chance to see more movies than usual. That's nice, I am always disappointed when I don't get to see the movies I want to on the big screen. I have my first Kickball Game at Liberty Park this weekend if anyone wants to come check it out. It's on Thursday at 6:00 or 7:00, I'm not sure of the time yet. Liz will be taking pictures. If there are any that aren't too awful I will post them. Don't hold your breath.

THIRTY ONE!!!!!

Hello!

Long time no blog. I know I suck! I will try to do better.

Today was my 31st birthday. It was very nice. I received a lot of well wishes and felt very special. After work I came home to find my dad had landscaped my yard and mowed my lawn for me. He's so nice! Also, he had set up a bistro set from him, my mom and my brother and sister in law (Rick and Tamy). My friend Heather came over after work and we finished off a bottle of wine while we took the bistro set for a test run. It passed with flying colors. Then we went to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner where we met up with Jennifer, Tiffany and Kimi. It was a really enjoyable night with good food, good friends and of course good booze.

A quick catch up on my life. Since I last wrote not much has changed. I got a promotion to another position at AMD which I love love love! I have been trying to get more involved in volunteering. I recently volunteered for the Utah Foster Care Foundation and will be starting to Volunteer with Hospice patients at the end of this month (fingers crossed). And I have found a group of really great friends that I can count on. After years of living in one sided friendships it's nice to know that my friends are as interested in what i'm doing as I am in what their doing.

Valen-whatsy day?

Hi all!

So I keep getting texts from friends today telling me Happy Valentine's Day. I'm not sure exactly what these strange messages mean? Haha. Just kidding, Happy Valentine's Day to all the suckers out there. I am spending it locked in my house with Bert and Zin. Those little fur balls give enough love and warmth to make even the coldest heart (mine) melt a little. I just downloaded some new music from iTunes. So to recap on my exciting Valentines plans, I am listening to newly purchased music with a dog and a cat for company. Try not to be jealous, I know it's hard.

On the plus side I have been working to be a little more social. I've been out two whole weekends in a row. Last weekend I went to The Keys on Main, a piano bar in downtown Salt Lake and sang the night away with friends. Last night I went to the VFW to see my friend Lisa sing and play the guitar. She was very good and it was fun to hang out with all the people that I usually only see in costumes at Dan and Lisa's house. I saw some familiar faces and some new faces and some faces I swear i've seen before but can't place. A total stranger came up to me in the bar and complemented me on my bangs. That made my night because I have started cutting my own bangs because most hair dressers I go to are too chicken to cut them as dramatically as I like them.

To all of you that voted for Bert. Thank you for your support. He didn't win but he's a winner in my eyes so that's all that matters. Bert would give you each a sloppy kiss if he could.

Since nothing is happening in my life right now, I don't really have any picture to post for you. So I am just going to post some random Zin pictures since I think she gets neglected in my blog.

Hi Everyone!



I have internet at my house again so hopefully I will be blogging on a regular basis again. Life is good right now. I just filed my taxes so in a couple of weeks I will be able to start working on the improvements to my house. I can't wait! I'll be sure to do some before, during and after shots for the blog.

Red Tinsel Christmas Tree

I started setting up my little Red Tinsel Christmas Tree yesterday. Zin has seen it a few times before so she didn't pay much attention to it but Bert was pretty excited about it since this is his first Christmas with me. I still haven't finished setting it up but when I do it's going to be Amy-Fabulous. I think I'm the only person on earth who likes my Red Tinsel Christmas Tree but that's ok because I don't just like it I LOVE it. I don't know what that says about my personality but who cares. I also took the tinfoil stars from work that we used as our Kiss decorations and am going to hang them as Christmas decorations. And today I am at my parents house doing laundry so before I leave I will probably take some of their extra Christmas lights. My house is going to be decked out in Amy's Ghetto Christmas Fashion. It's going to be super!

My friends Liz and Matt came over yesterday and we broke out the Dance Dance Revolution on my PS2. I got Liz totally addicted to it and so we are going to split the cost on a second dance pad so we can do battle to the death dances. I'm so excited because I love DDR but never have anyone to play it with me. Liz and I are going to become DDR masters. What a couple of dork's we are, but happy dorks.
